I was wondering with the new project and everything, why not have people be able to send other canvas size art, not just wallpapers maybe make another gallery for that, I think it'd be a cool feature, it'd give allot of the members some new freedom to do whatever they want and not be tied down by the wallpaper sizes

Yeah I feel like I was chatting about this to tates because of her new project, like you mentioned. I will admit off the top of bat that I'm in love with the wallpaper gallery, but I also will fully admit that I'm a total wallpaper dork.

I don't want to add too much more for now - I wanna see what other people think - but would adding a new gallery take up a lot of time na-kuns? Or would it be relatively straightforward? I'm inclined to thinking that it'd be the former (fixing, fitting it into current/future layout, etc. etc.) but do correct me if I'm wrong since I know almost nothing about this type of coding...

I dont know but I was wondering about that, but I think it would be good I dont know about other people but I sometimes make things and they are not meant to be walls but make them fit to have all the noodlers see them, and im pretty sure other people do, but there are some things that just cant be made to fit into walls

Aren't there certain max/min dimension rules right now? From the little I've done with PHP, I've come to the decision that changing stuff like that is a pain in the ass. I could be wrong from my lack of experience as far as coding goes, but I'm not sure it'd be just a simple little "change this" scenario.


Also, isn't the majority of IN like Flyin? Not many of these kids really delve outside the "wall" ratio (some even seem to get uncomfortable with it. :\), so I don't think there'd be much of a need to do something like this.

calm down wise one lol kids, well I dont know about others but maybe if we gave out the possibility the kids as you call em will spread they're wings and start to do new stuff, who knows it might be interesting. with the new project we will see how that would go itd give out a good idea. but lets hear from more members

yeah I dont know if it would be an incredible pain in the ass or not and if it is we should maybe have a vote off to see how many members would actually submit work that would go into that gallery

Yeah, I dunno - I mean, Gid's pumpkin countdown was a success I'd say, and many of us also have devART accounts where we put out stuff (even if it may not be as much as anime walls xD) so I don't think the problem is that people get uncomfortable with doing stuff in non-wall res. I'd be wondering firstly if it's worth the hassle (like are people really going to use it a lot) and secondly if it will add a lot to the IN experience/what IN is.

In place of a vote-off why not start a thread in the art board sword for people to post links to their non-wall stuff, sort of as a test run? I've found that it's so easy just to say "yes" and then not do anything, I think this way we'll be able to better gauge how much activity there will be and come back to the discussion board. I assume most everyone who does original pieces usually post them on devART... but an imageshack link would work too :]

So yeah sword, if you wanna go ahead and create the thread in the art board I can sticky it for you :]

yeah ill make it that sounds like a good idea and about the experience it will add to IN is why I think itd be a good idea, it may make the site grow and such but yeah we should see if people would really use it or not

Really good ideas. Making another gallery is definitely possible. I've started the upgrade process, so please suggest anything that you would like to see implemented!
