cool XD

A friend from Boston came down and stayed with me this past weekend; we did some good old youtube browsing one night and he showed me some real neat stuff!

We started off with David Blaine:

Not really my type of thing, but amusing.

Then Where the Hell is Matt, which is awfully neat... that dude's so lucky!

^ I esp love the opening, it's like an image out of dreams XD except maybe without the funny dancing he he he.

And finally (my favorite one, saving the best for last) the Free Hugs Campaign. OMG SO INSPIRATIONAL, MUST WATCH! :D

...Now I need to get my friend to send that Sick Puppies song to me XD

P.S. David Blaine's thing had a sequel that we also watched...

And we also went through Matt's outtakes and those were pretty awesome too :D

interesting article about how joshua bell, a world class violinist played in a metro dressed as an everday street musician...and largely went unnoticed by around a 1000 passerbys.

(Having seen Desert Punk might be a requirement to find this funny^^)

EDIT: This might seem a stupid question, but how the hell can I switch pages in a thread? I know this thread is more than one page long, but I don't know how to navigate o_O

Makoto Shinkai goodness! A commercial he made for his hometown's newspaper, found through ANN homepage :D Although the girl with the huge teary eyes threw me off a bit.

Two versions, basically the same animation - just with slightly different background music.

Yeah, I want to know that too o_O
"Father!" -- "Thank you" wtf?

Btw, a few days ago I watched 5cm per Second and is it just me or is he telling basically the same story over and over again? I mean, sure, visually stunning, but the whole time I had this you've-seen-this-story-already feeling.

Icehand, yea i think he is. But for what its worth, i think its due to a film autuerism where a director will explore the same theme and questions over a span of works. It can be similarly seen in other examples such as Takeshi Kitano & Wong Kar Wai.

Hahaha well, here's the whole descrip from ANN:

"Makoto Shinkai, the one-man animation crew of the Voices of a Distant Star video and the director of The Place Promised in Our Early Days movie, created a commercial for The Shinano Mainichi Shimbun paper in his home prefecture of Nagano. Two versions are available online. The commercial spotlights the world's first hybrid electric train at Shinkai's hometown, Kōmi. Ironically, Shinkai's latest film, 5 Centimeters per Second, did not have a theatrical release in his home prefecture; volunteers had to arrange a community center showing in Sakushi, a city near Kōmi, on August 14."

Ahaha someone said in ANN forums: "The feeling I got was "bullet trains will take your family away from you and make you sad." LOLz
