what do you feel about mangas like that that have a story that just keeps going on and on
like naruto bleach one piece inuyasha
I dont know there are so many now a days that dont end, I sort of loose respect for the mangaka when they do that because the story gets from good to bad to pointless, I wouldnt mind a long long manga that was good all around the longest one im reading is hajime no ippo and its like 80 volumes long and its still going, I still enjoy it because you do get a sense of growth and I dont know it doesnt loose its excitement, but there are other mangas that should have ended long ago and they look for whatever way to make it keep going

For me, it becomes too tedious to keep up with. I try for a while, but then I just lose track of it. After a while, the story begins to feel like it should have been resolved already.
Something relateable was talked about a lot in literary magazines when the final Harry Potter installment came out: as much as readers want something to go on and on and on, they also want resolution. As much as you are invested in the characters and their story, part of that investment warrants a resolution. In other words, you as as author owe it to your readers.

I agree but most authors loose sight of that and make the story past the point they intended it to end the reason being is they want more money
but there are authors who keep they're material good nonetheless, if you do that then theres nothing stopping you from writing it for as long as you want but if the material isn't as good or better then the first then whats the point of going on
