I'd say that about 2/5 of the work on IN4 is done. I was looking for some input on what you'd all like to see added or changed.

I'm thinking about removing the memberlist section as it seems kind of trivial, or maybe I could put it somewhere other than the main page.

I was also thinking about adding a lightbox (screen darkens, image overlayed on top) instead of keeping the current system.

In any case, your suggestions are welcome, just keep them somewhat realistic.

Lightbox? o.o For... the gallery? I'm partial to the way it is now, mostly because I feel like lightbox things can be sorta slow. Would you use it for full viewing of walls?

I think my biggest wish would be improved gallery navigation. Like how right now, if you click into subcategories say
, you can't click on the breadcrumb to take you back in the main "parent" category, or "Original" in this case. Mostly just little things to improve the browsing experience esp. as IN's gallery grows bigger and new ppl join... yar? x3

I'm still conflicted about nonwall gallery. I can see how it'd be nice, but as of now (judging from the nonwall-res thread) I don't see much to suggest that the section would really get used more than once or twice a month...

D: I like non-wall res...it would let me upload stuff I've been recently working on >xP

and and...keeping the wall-res only gallery stunts IN's growth in my opinion since most of the ppl who joins are just wallers and most are lazy bums in posting too @_@

Maybe if it'll be open for other types of things other people who works on other stuff will join ; 3; people who would add something "more" for IN, that's what i think anyway...

yeah tatoes thats what I have been thinking id submit alot of stuff and not just change them into wall size, or submit new stuff that I havent been able to submit

I also like the non wall resolution idea and I dont know if it's only me but I think it would be nice to have a link under our avatars with the "send a message or just PM ...it kinda bothers me everytime that I have to look some way to get to the user profile to send something

alterlier, click on the "message" button next to the profile button and that'll do the trick :]

P.S. Ok na-kuns, if you're going to add a non-wall res gallery, could you make it an option for project galleries as well? :D That way if say, Gids ever does the pumpkin countdown project again (or any non-wall res in general project), ppl can upload their entries to IN as well x3

There are actually stripped-down versions of lightbox that aren't that bad in terms of slowing things down. I'll refrain from using it though, it's not really necessary.

yea i was speaking more of it being unessecary then actually hurting anyones performance. looks cool but i find it more of an annoyance then anything else honestly

Oh another thing that would be cool - although I'm not sure how realistic it would be, probably not very - is if a wall can be listed in both project and normal galleries. So say like if I submit the Romeo x Juliet wall for 100 Themes, there'd be an option to add a second category so that it'll show up in both 100T and RxJ galleries :]

Is it possible to put in a calendar with people's birthdays, and have a little line on the frontpage that shows when it's someone's birthday? I've seen that on some forums and I've always thought it's a nifty function :] So far I've been trying to keep track / wish ppl happy bdays in the SB at least, but an automated section would be GREAT if I forgot or went on vacation, whatever. In general I'd love to do something special for ppl for birthdays, but since I can't think of anything right now that would be both nice and relatively "easy" to do the automated thingy is my best idea for now, if it's not too hard to implement x]
