Kung Fu Panda and Don't Mess with the Zohan were good movies. I thought Caspian was okay... the prince sounded Italian hahha
I saw Wall-E, Hancock, and Get Smart in the last two weeks. I really liked Wall-E, but I also found most of it really depressing ; -; And as much as I am an idealist I thought the ending was a bit incredible. Hancock was meh. Get Smart had funny spots but was also eh. So my favorite movie of the summer so far is still Iron Man ; D; That is, until Christian Bale kicks Robert Downey Jr.'s ass xD
...props to those of you who get the allusion. For those of you that didn't, I highly recommend watching this youtube video:
A co-worker linked me a little while back and it's pretty hilarious xD
I totally fell in love with Wall-E XD. He was just tooo cute!!!!
HellBoy II, Get Smart, Hancock, and Kung Fu Panda were okay...but they didn't pop out that much to me. And that's about all the summer movies I remember seeing so far (my family and I usually have a movie outing once a week - spoiled ne?)
@Flyin: LMAO "How'd you like Iron Man?" "It'll do... until The Dark Knight comes out." I was watching that in class a while back and I started spewing laughter. It was beautiful :]
Saw Kung-Fu Panda and The Incredible Hulk in the beginning of summer; first one was intentionally hilarious, second one was unintentionally hilarious. "HULK- SMAAAAAASH" sent me into spasms of laughter, as did William Hurt's occasional "wtf daughter" expressions.
DARK KNIGHT THIS WEEK THOUGH A;SDLKFJ;ALSDKJA;SDKFJ;ASDKF; SO EXCITED. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. [/spam]
I loved Wall-E until like, the last half hour, because then I started to feel the effect of a large-cup Fanta o_x But that aside, it was so cute and gorgeous :D "eeeee-EEEEEEEEE-ve" <3
"A large cup of Fanta": hahahaha...
Kung Fu Panda: cute. Get Smart: just ok.
I'm going to see The Dark Knight Thursday at midnight!! So excited :D
Hahaha swordfish that was awesome - totally put a cheesy smile on my face. Totally needed it because I was totally bumming ;)
Anya I'm so freakin' jealous. But I'm going to see Dark Knight this weekend - yes I am!!!
hahaha that's awesome!
well thats good flyn "Lets put a smile on that Face"
glad to be of service :P
probably seems out of place to talk about these in the shadow of Dark Knight but...
did anyone happen to catch either Hellboy 2 or Mamma Mia?
I can't say either was horrible and I was most definitely probably overly excited about both, but couldn't help but feel underwhelemd by both of them....
One of my co-workers saw Mamma Mia and really loved it. It didn't really have tremendous appeal for me as a musical, but I might get around to watching it once it's out on DVDs... I think I've watched most of the musical-movies that have come out recently.
Speaking of underwhelmed, and this isn't a new summer movie, but I finally finished Lost in Translation and I really wanted to like it, but I finished and I was tremendously underwhelmed. Not to say I hated it, but I kept thinking throughout the movie that the "lost in translation" bit is just kinda lost on me. Partly because I can pick out bits of the Japanese dialogue and get the general gist of what's going on there... but more because a lot of the things you're supposed to find weird/strange (like the arcade scene) I was just like... yeah? No. :P There are definitely things I like about the movie, but all in all I can't say I was a fan. Am curious to see what other people who've seen this movie thinks about it...
yea no offense to sofia coppolla or anyone that liked it but i found lost in translation to be utterly horrible....
I haven't seen it, though it was on my list to see. I just saw an Italian film called Mio Fratello è Figlio Unico (My Brother Is An Only Child). I was similar about it as you are to Lost In Translation. Though there were aspects I liked, I was underwhelmed throughout most of the movie. I enjoyed the beginning and ending the most. Not sure if anyone else here had heard of it or planned to see it...
I also just saw the latest Narnia, but I didn't really enjoy it very much (though, admittedly, I'm not much of a Narnia fan as it is). I found the end very anticlimactic.

Completey off topic, but everytime I see Sofia mentioned I think of the story my Geometry teach told us about her trying to bribe an A out of him because she was Coppola's daughter. XD
yea....honestly i get the impression that the only reason she gets so much attention is in light of her father. This is especially so if your of the opinion that Lost In Translation was indeed crap, and had the horrid experiience of watching Marie Antoinette.....which was subsequently booed down at Cannes....
