I'm sure there's an old thread around here somewhere (or was the PV?), but either way, I just saw Ironman and realized there are plenty of movies I want to see this summer for the pure sake of enjoyment. Top of my list after Ironman is Indiana Jones and Speed Racer. And Hellboy II. Oh hells yeah. And Prince Caspian. It's even better that the movie theatre is a block away and cheaper 'cause it's older.
So. DISCUSS.
Hellboy II is going to be fun. I need an old and cheap movie theatre a block away from me...
Also, another Incredible Hulk (maybe one that doesn't suck monkey balls)?
And it's about damn time Chuck Pallahniuk's Choke was coming out...
Oh, there's also Hell Ride!
Does anyone know what's going on with
?
Oh lord, the Hulk. I have mixed feelings on this one. I like Edward Norton, but the last one was SO BAD.
I haven't heard much on the X-Files movie (and I also don't research much unless I can't sleep, XD). It caught me off guard when I saw the poster when we went to see Run Fatboy Run but if I remember correctly, the last movie did leave a bit of an open ending didn't it? Of course, this was back in the 90's and I was smaller, so I could be remembering wrong. XD
Yeah, PV I think for old thread
Anyhoo YES, lots of movies I'm waiting for xD Indiana Jones, for sure. Prince Caspian yes, although I do have a few gripes - Prince Caspian is supposed to be BLONDE (right?). That was one of my favorite Narnian books and Caspian was one of my favorite characters, so I will admit I am a bit ticked off about the non-blonde-ness. I've also had a much more "pretty boy" mental image of him - the dude in the trailer looks too rugged IMO
but yeah the non-prettiness is just a personal complaint, I was very into pretty blonde boys when I was in middle school LOL.
Also the Dark Knight of course, w00t! Anddd I'm also really really really tempted to go watch the Sex and the City movie. I marathoned the last season recently and loved it, but I'd probably have to go see it myself if I wanted to catch it in the theaters - my boyfriend absolutely detested the series and he's my usual movie theater-going buddy :(
I feel like I'm missing a few. Not sure what though - this summer isn't quite like last summer in terms of all those #3 sequels in trilogy installments so I feel like more are slipping off my radar.

Oh oh oh! I don't know if I'll end up watching this in theaters, but I will sooner or later be checking out Wall-E sooner or later. I
Pixar... not to say the trailer for Wall-E grabbed me, but I thought the same thing (and worse) about Cars. Ended up watching Cars in theaters with my cousins and really enjoyed it XD
I'm going to see Indiana Jones and Speed Racer for sure. Oh, and that's cool that they are making a movie of Chuck Palahniuk's Choke, since I've been obsessing over his books lately. I'm also about to buy his new novel that comes out on May 20th (or around there,) even though the plot sounds kind of crude. I'm sure I'll find it entertaining. :D
Flyin: Anddd I'm also really really really tempted to go watch the Sex and the City movie.
I am sooo mocking you for this every chance I get. And I forgot about the Dark Knight. I have one thing to say to that: IMAX FTW. It may be 15$ a ticket, but the screen is so big and the sound is so fantastic. I recommend the splurge, lawl. Also, suck it up on Caspian. I probably would have laughed if they'd chosen a prettier, blonder boy. XD
Can't say I'll go see Choke though, doesn't sound like my kind of thing. . . XD
I have to second a lot of the movies already said, but also: Kung Fu Panda. I
pandas, and the trailer in theatres was much better imo than the one running on TV. I'd also like to see Get Smart (go Steve Carell!) and The Happening.
flyin is crazy, Prince Caspian is fecking hawt.
I SAW SPEED RACER. And it was actually pretty good. I was expecting something corny and bad, but this was more corny and decent. I think my low expectations also helped boost it a bit, XD.
A word of caution: Sit in the back if you're going to watch this. Otherwise your brain may overload on all the colours. . .
I had the same better than expected reaction...your warning is too late, my cat looks like rainbows.
I didn't even think of waking up to come with my sis and mom to the movies to see it today xD...i could just see it when we buy a ripped dvd haha ahhhh...
yeah I cant wait to go see hot wheels aka speed racer
Haha I thought there were positive comments here about Iron Man. Maybe I got it mixed up with co-worker(s)/other word of mouth, most of which was good. So I saw it today with parents/sister - it was great haha. I love how Robert Downey Jr. is older than the average superhero in these comics-movies. That's not the only thing I loved about the movie btw, but that was one of the things that stood out the most for me. Definitely was a nice start to the summer movie season :D

Derek and I saw Prince Caspian on Friday night. Overall was pretty decent. I spent a good part of the movie thinking either "Mary Sue" or "Jesus-Allegory Lion says . . ." There were also some, er, First-Person camera perspective moves going on towards the end that I did not at all care for as well. I did enjoy that the "Religion card" was a bit stronger though; it made things more interesting.
Wow I don't know what happened. My reply ate up Gid's old post... anyways second try:

I watched this in Vegas with boyfriend - it was ok. Entertaining but not amazing. I didn't really notice the camera perspective or religion thing that you mentioned, but the things that got to me were movie vs. book plot changes. Which was actually a bit weird since I don't remember the book all that well, but I still kept getting the feeling that "this wasn't in the book, but adding it to movie didn't really contribute anything to the overall story." The other thing was Caspian's Russian/Eastern European accent. I was kinda like wtf? I guess he's of a different "race" but I would've been happy if he stuck to British accent. It was just kinda distracting. And he was kinda pansy LOL.
I got a bit of sunstroke last day in Vegas with a spliting headache going into Indiana Jones, so I couldn't finish past the first couple of minutes. My boyfriend wasn't very impressed though... he thought the adventure wasn't as good as the previous ones, there were too many things that were just "out there," Shia LaBoeuf wasn't a particularly good
Spoiler below!James and I had a discussion about this last night, and completely agree. Although he didn't seem to have a problem with LaBoeuf and neither did I, XD. There were some entertaining parts, but overall it left something to be desired. Like more whip action, D:

Weren't they more Spaniards?
But seriously, he and Peter brought the Emo to that movie. Hardcore.
